Our Story
While living in the US, Alaina Ferreira became a dedicated member of the My Remarkable Self® team, a special program aimed at teaching kids and young adults social and emotional skills.
Seeing how powerful the program was, Alaina wanted to share these invaluable skills with the children and pre teens in her home town. A wonderful collaboration came together, and Alaina paved the way for My Remarkable Self® - Australia.
This program, an offshoot of the US version, creates an inclusive and fun learning environment where children can be their true selves, develop their self-worth, build resilience and emotional intelligence and create meaningful relationships with others, and most importantly, themselves.

Founder/Director, My Remarkable Self Australia
When I was a child, my greatest dream was to become an actress. I adored the feeling of captivating audiences on the stage. My journey into the world of performing arts started at age of 7 when I first started Speech and Drama classes. My passion for acting led me to pursue a teaching diploma in my early 20's. Learning to speak with confidence and express myself effectively in front of an audience, significantly shaped my academic and personal growth.
In 2019 we moved our family to Rye, New York. While living in Rye, my 9-year-old daughter had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the My Remarkable Self program. These courses centre around fostering self-confidence, building resilience, and creating strong friendships. Seeing the positive impact it had on her, combined with my own passion for empowering kids to speak with confidence and expression, I was inspired to reach out to Claire Neary (the founder) and Jen Morris (co-owner) of My Remarkable Self. Together, we explored the possibility of bringing this transformative program to Australia. The collaboration was made even more meaningful as Claire originally hails from Australia.
In this new and exciting chapter of my life, I'm fully committed to sharing these valuable life skills with children, encouraging them to embrace their true selves, and supporting their growth in all aspects of life – much like the aspirations I hold for my own children.

Education & Experience
Alaina received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at the Queensland University of Technology. During this time, she studied speech and drama and received her Speech and Drama Diploma of Licentiate. Alaina taught drama to primary school children as an after school program before she began her Masters of Audiology at the University of Queensland.
After 10+ years as an Audiologist, Alaina has turned her focus back to helping children and pre-teens. In 2023, Alaina trained under Claire Neary and Jen Morris of My Remarkable Self in Rye, New York. Shadowing and gaining valuable knowledge in teaching social and emotional learning to school aged children.
Alaina continues to prioritise learning, gaining her Youth Mentor certificate through Shine From Within in 2024.

At My Remarkable Self Australia our mission is to help children develop the essential skills and knowledge to excel socially, academically and personally.
Our goal is to empower children to confidently tackle the various challenges they face in their lives, and to become more self-assured, empathetic and resilient as they grow.
